13:16 Verbal Festival Snapshots Part 3

It's Sunday morning. The whole Laulurinne are is covered in various bits of crap: disposable paper plates and plastic cups, loads and loads of uneaten food, tissues, ripped newspapers and everyhting else imaginable. The cleaning operation has been going on since early morning. Festival cleaning staff are wondering around with giant black refuse bags and picking up everything that doesn't move.

The area in front of the main stage is like a scene from the film Birds. About 200 seagulls dive in and out picking up tasty treats. The only thing missing is Tippi Hedren. And a big fat bloke with a cigar.

And this is only the first morning they've got to clean up, there's still a whole day to go. Monday morning they're going to do it all over again.

"Muista Jukkaa" is the phrase the Festival organizers stick on every single official publication. It means "Remember Jukka" He is the guy in the Pop Office (people who own the festival) who has to answer angry phonecalls from local residents after the weekend. They're not usually very happy as the revellers tend to litter everywhere.

But Jukka usually talks his way out of any trouble and good relations between the Festival and the locals is maintained year after year.
