14:04 Virkavalta Rocks the Truck

Virkavalta opened the show on the small stage next to the YleX tent and proved their punk rocks.

Virkavalta ws the first band to perform on the small stage built into a truck next to the massive YleX tent and they pulled it off by playing a tight set of angry Finnish punk.

The audience consisted of four shirtless, avid male fans headbanging in front, one hot blonde in tight jeans, a goth in a PVC getup and a group of students looking for an alternative place to hang out. The set design resembled a whacked out Christmas scene with it's blinking red and green lights hoisted on the backdrop painted with Wunderbaums of the same color scheme. This was oddly touching set against the swaying birch trees and the blue Finnish sky. The band's lyrics were mostly incomprehensible but the message was clear: the goverment sucks and punk rocks. By the end of the gig, the small yard in the front of the stage had turned into a mini-moshpit and Virkavalta had done their job: the truck had begun to rock.
