CARPARK NORTH (DK)

Carpark North hails from Denmark, where the band belongs to the absolute crème de la crème of the national rock scene. Their first album Carpark North became rapidly a number one in Danish charts and has so far sold more than 50 000 copies worldwide. Obviously, the band soon wanted to try their strength also outside their home country, and the release of their second album All Things to All People was followed by an European tour and much attention in Germany and Austria, among several other countries.

It is difficult to put Carpark North's music in any conventional genre. All Things to All People does not seem to belong to any trend or any particular era of popular music. Electronic pop and honest rock integrate beautifully, and although one can hear even some influences from nu metal there, they are nicely put into balance by allusions to, say, Depeche Mode.

The audience in Ilosaarirock can consider themselves privileged: wholesome pop treats like Carpark North never cross one's path too often.
