The classic "producer album", though ubiquitous in hip hop circles elsewhere, has so far been a rare phenomenon in Finnish hip hop. DJPP, however, wanted to try his hand at the job, invited the finest Finnish rappers to join in, created each of them customised backgrounds and let his guests take care of the lyrics. The result was the album Tuottajalevy (literally, 'Producer Album') that came out earlier this year. There are more than 20 rappers on the album, including Edu Kehäkettunen, Davo, Jontti, Shaka, Setä Koponen, Petos, Jodarok, Notkea Rotta, Tuomio ja Kone, Ruudolf, Eevil Stöö, Asa, Memmy Posse and Steen1.

DJPP, a Helsinki-based rapper whose day job is with the electro band Uusi Fantasia, was solely responsible for the beats on the album, as well as recording and all other production tasks. DJPP's live performances have so far been few and far between, but in Ilosaarirock he is joined by Edu Kehäkettunen and Stig Dogg, also known as the R. Kelly of Helsinki.
