Poets of the Fall has, during its relatively short career, already enjoyed success almost never before seen in this country. Their secret may be the fact that all the members have different musical backgrounds and favourite styles. Marko, the singer, comes from rock and metal circles, while Olli, the guitarist, loves jazz, and Captain, the keyboardist, has also got a knack for electric rhythms. So far, they have released two albums, of which Signs of Life (2004) has sold platinum, and this year's Carnival of Rust has gone gold.
For many, Poets of the Fall equals Late Goodbye, but onstage the band is so much more than their biggest hit may lead one to expect. That is to say: Poets of the Fall rocks, and it rocks hard.
