TAROT

In 1986, Tarot's first album Spell of Iron was a real groundbreaker in the Finnish heavy metal scene. Twenty years later, the band belongs to the category of gracefully matured, but the years have only added to the charisma of these Eastern Finnish hair gods. Their worldly-wise ways are particularly apparent onstage, where their delivery is not just about power and glory, but first and foremost about joviality and good going.

Since the 2003 album Suffer Our Pleasures Tarot has not hammered any more material into an album form, but this year has seen the re-release of some of their extremely-hard-to-find back catalogue. Out there, people tend to apply the word metalhead to all kinds of innocent young brats, but just one look at these guys is enough to teach the puppies the right meaning of the word.
