Don Johnson Big Band
A couple of years ago, a Don Johnson Big Band gig belonged to a Finnish summer festival like pyttipannu (Finnish sausage and potato hash) on a paper plate. After the self-titled 2006 album, the band voluntarily retired from the focus of attention, and during the last few years their live performances have been few and far between. But now the time has come for the band to surface again. And the enthusiastic response to the new single L.L.H – the first titbit from the new album Records Are Forever – shows that in spite of the long silence, DJBB has never lost its hold of the fans' hearts and minds.
The four Don Johnsons may duplicate up to eight members when the band is onstage. Living true to their reputation as a band that's always exciting to both hear and see, the combo likes to pull an endless number of aces from their sleeve by inviting cool guests, one after another, to join them onstage. The past Don Johnsonless years haven't managed to wipe off the memory of the hysterical atmosphere prevailing at the band's gigs. And now that the expectant feeling has had time to gain some extra momentum, there is all the reason to believe that once this band takes to the stage, the atmosphere will never be far from boiling over.
