All kids go through a phase when they ask all kinds of questions. If the toddler comes up with the question "What was punk?", a responsible parent will put on a record by the band Riistetyt. If mommy or daddy themselves have a moment when they want a reminder of the deeper meaning of punk rock, the punk institution Riistetyt from Tampere is again the answer. Riistetyt was founded almost three decades ago and did their first comeback nearly ten years back. The line-up of the band has changed many times – counting in the chaps playing in the band today, there have been more than a dozen members – but the vocalist Lazze and the bass player Piise have been in flames from the word go. Here, now, a big chunk of bad-mannered punk history is up for grabs, alive at this moment of time.
