Stepa took over the Rento Stage

Stepa, Sodankylä’s gift to Finnish rap, provided the framework for entertaining Sunday evening on the Rento Stage. The artiste himself seemed as good-humoured as his lyrics, and the mellow double-act was completed by the guest starring Are. At the beginning of the show the speedy crowd rush filled the immediate surroundings of the stage and all in all, the beach was nicely packed with people.

“Fight the power”, Stepa proclaims and the public replies in the same manner. The man gradually warmed to his audience and actively started moving about the stage.

Vapaapäivä (‘A Day Off’), one of his most popular songs, really stirred the listeners and lyrics seemed come readily to everyone’s mind. Interaction with the audience worked very well and the humorous lyrics encouraged the massed crowds to clap furiously to the beat. Especially the women in the audience got carried away when Naiset (‘Women’) kicked off, and the good feeling spread quickly through the whole crowd.

After the last song, Stepa mopped the sweat off his face, and having put his all to the show, received a thunderous applause in the sunny evening. All in all, a pretty phat set from Stepa.
