Streamlined pop rock without pointless eccentricity
In Rosa's story, things have moved fast. Rosa played their debut gig in the spring of 2009. A year later, their self-published single Virta (Stream) was vastly played on the radio and they did extremely well in the national Tulevaisuuden tusina 2011 (The Dozen of the Future) vote. In January 2011 they signed a record deal with EMI and started working on their debut album.
Rosa's charm is based on simple ingredients. Their indie influenced pop rock is not put together to please indie blogs and their songs are not an attempt to do musical acrobatics. Instead, Rosa depend on their own strengths: the singer Maija's voice is beautiful, their streamlined songs sound ready and they play well together. In today's trend jungles there are too few who believe in good songs, and this is where Rosa comes along. According to their first publications one can expect great things from this young band.
