Chilling and dancing at the beach

The sun has disappeared behind the clouds and the wind is blowing stronger, but despite the chilly weather, the second DJ’s at the lakeside Rento Stage C-Star with Gibson Jones have got the beach-party-people shaking the cold off their feet. It’s Will Smith‘s tune Miami that makes the feeling as warm as Southbeach! The crowd is cheering as  11-year-old Sakari and Australian Zarry are having a cheerful battle in front of the stage.

Party in the city where the heat is on
All night on the beach till the break of dawn

Welcome to Ilosaarirock (bienvenido a Ilosaarirock)!

After the show Zerry tells us that this is his fourth time in Ilosaarirock and he always enjoys seeing people dance, especially children. He sends greetings to the Finns suffering from the long dark winter: “Keep this feeling in September, October and November!”

One hour later after the Kuningassoundi Rentodisko gig, C-Star is back in action with some reggae, dancehall and dub music. In addition to dancing there is also some footbag playing and just chilling and relaxing. We chat with two girls from Helsinki, Veera and Ansa, who are sitting near the stage. “We’ve been dancing too!” they say. First-timers in Ilosaarirock, they’ve enjoyed the great atmosphere and nice views at the beach: “It was everything we expected!” they conclude.
