The Irrationals kicks off Sunday at the Rento Stage

The crowd is slowly but surely gathering to the beach when The Irrationals is starting up at the Rento Stage, and when the sun peeks from behind the clouds, the party’s ready to begin.

The band’s crooked humour is irresistable and inevitably draws smiles to faces, or how would you react to a intro that begins like Celine Dion‘s My Heart Will Go On, gently slows down and is finally drowned by the sounds of waves crashing? Or to the last song, where the singer Tyko Haapala gives an important reminder to the male audience: Most of you won’t get any pussy tonight.

It does seem that much like their name, the band’s musical alignment is, in fact, irrational. Funk, soul, hip hop and gypsy music merrily shake hands at the Rento Stage. A most welcome surprise and a new acquaintance; keep the name The Irrationals in mind.
