The Whirlwind Named Nasum

Geez louise! What a show! Nasum is back and firing on all cylinders. The mosh pit spins wildly through the entire set and the damn thing just keeps on growing and growing! I’m not sure Laulurinne has ever experienced a pit this huge before. It’s fun to watch sweat-drenched metalheads rush for a breath of fresh air outside. If there is joy in movement, I’m definitely seeing it now in this tent. Here’s a suggestion: let’s substitute all that boring orienteering and baseball stuff at school’s gym class with Nasum and a pit and really get them kids moving!

Keijo Niinimaa of Rotten Sound fills in for Nasum’s late vocalist Mieszko Talarczyk and does the man justice. The band clearly enjoys playing together and Niinimaa readily praises Ilosaarirock as the best festival in the country.  He also jokes about the language skills (or lack there of) of his Swedish colleagues. Even if they don’t understand Finnish, I’m sure the band is extremely pleased with their work and their audience tonight. Nasum brought the house down with a show that was clearly the best of the day at the Sue Stage. I’m glad I didn’t miss it.
