Chillaxing with Kuningassoundi

The most stylish jamming session of the day was offered by Kuningassoundi (“King sound“) at Rentolava. This time Kuningassoundi offered a special show with many featuring artists: Nopsajalka, Mad Ice, Juno, Papa Jahmani, Super Janne, Paha-Nuutti, Isac Elliot, Paleface, Leijonamieli, Stepa, Are, Bubblin’ Crew and DJ Hermanni. Also the dance group Queens of F*** everything climbed on the stage showing some dancehall moves. That was an intresting addition to the diversity of the show but the winner of the cutest-prize was withot a doubt a young talent called Isac Elliot with his ”I kissed a girl and I liked it”-cover. What a confidence!

Kuningassoundi has been oranised in Helsinki every Friday as a sort of an after work chilling party in an ideal location in the oldest part of Helsinki at Restaurant Helsinge…until the place burned down in 2011. Luckily, Kuningassoundi found a new venue closer to downtown Helsinki and has attracted some 200-500 people every Friday during the summer time.

Although being a clearly Helsinki-based project Kuningassoundi seemed to feel like home in Ilosaari and was very well received by the audience. The weather was definitively not favouring Kuningassoundi’s show at first but Rentolava was far from empty and the crowd did not seem to care about the cold wind and light rain because available was a show not to be missed.

The Kuningassoundi-show included many hits from the renowned artists such as Paleface, Elokuu and Nopsajalka himself who acted as a kind of a host. The audience loved especially Talonomistaja by Paleface and Matkamies by Nopsajalka feat Leijonamieli, Stepa and Are.

If some people happened to feel a bit tired or for some reason were in a bad mood before Kuningassoundi’s performance, it is for sure that I only saw happy faces leaving Rentolava after the 60-minute express train to relaxation.
