Terveet kädet

Ok, I have to admit it was my first time seeing Terveet Kädet live. I’m ashamed a bit. Or I would be anyway if someone would recognise me or read this stuff. This band is a hardcore legend, not only in Finland but overseas just as well. Luckily there’s Ilosaarirock and the Töminä Club where wretches like me get to fill in such gaping holes in their general knowledge .

And the gig, there’s nothing much else to say other than it rocked! Brutal and straightforward. Läjä Äijälä and his band of ruffians do their thing with the energy of a horde of orangutans on meth. I’ve got to admit that piss and shit warm a full grown man’s heart much better than a pile of lukewarm skate punk-emocore-new age-what-have you bullshit.
I still have to add that the audience’s respect of the band could be felt in the crowd. Terveet Kädet is a Finnish national treasure. The first and oldest, still active hardcore band. Brats, if you can’t top this, stay out of the way!
