Haloo Helsinki! (FIN)
Despite of their young age, Haloo Helsinki from Helsinki is already a veteran of Ilosaarirock. A lot has happened since last summer – the band released their fifth album Kiitos ei ole kirosana, which went platinum within a week of being released, and shot to the radiowaves with their hit single Beibi. Not that they had any shortage of hits to begin with. Maailman toisella puolen, Huuda!, Vapaus käteen jää, Jos mun pokka pettää, Maailma on tehty meitä varten... It's safe to say that they're here to stay.
There aren't too many in Finland that can do a full festival set playing only hits. When you add on the fact that Haloo Helsinki didn't even exist ten years ago, it's hard not to be impressed. Now if ever the time has come to see the band live and witness what all the fuzz is about.
The lead singer, Elli, is one of the most charismatic figures in finnish pop and if their earlier performances in Laulurinne are anything to go by, this year's gig will go down on history books as one of the greats. You know where to be.
