” Wait, when she starts to sing, you’ll melt on the spot”, says a girl from the crowd who refers to the woman playing the guitar on the stage. And she is right, the sweet Julia Stone has a sugary voice that melts even the coldest of hearts.

Angus & Julia Stone is an Australian sibling duo that has done indie pop with a folk twist for almost a decade now. They are distinctive with their heart breaking lyrics and beautifully harmonious voices that compliment each other. The siblings are accompanied by an ensemble of a guitarist, a bass player, a drummer and a keyboard player.

If you came to see an intensive acoustic gig, you might have gotten confused by the rocking start of the show. Up on the screen a flash of psychedelic lights are reflected on a picture of a bear.

Couples cling together when Heart Beats Slow starts to play. The music from the Stone duo is perfect for the occasion. The adding of an acoustic guitar, a banjo and a trumpet bring new dimensions to the music and show. The music becomes livelier and grows to a grand majestic size at times as well as it get slow and delicate.

The song All of Me from the first album is illustrated with something that resembles ice crystals and snowfall and perhaps the best known song Big Jet Plane gets a wild cheer form the audience.

The ideal environment for this band would be somewhere intimate and atmospheric, that the music needs, which did not unfortunately happen this time. But it was a pleasure to listen to the music in the evening sun.
