Oranssi Pazuzu (FIN)
The psychedelic band Oranssi Pazuzu is an obscure combination of buzzing prog and crushing black metal. This band of five has so many different elements at their disposal that the music they create takes you on a cosmic ride through space and time. Will the scariest band in the world black out the sun at Ilosaarirock Festival?
Oranssi Pazuzu's songs are in Finnish, but their acid-filled approach erodes all language barriers. Their latest album Värähtelijä was released last year and it has gained worldwide success in different music mediums. A song called Lahja was seen on James Hetfield's playlist of recommendations. The sound and fury of the live gigs of Oranssi Pazuzu have only proved that good music itself is a lingua franca.
The band received a very special kind of accolade when tan American magazine LA Weekly listed the scariest bands in the world. Oranssi Pazuzu, of course, was the winner. Prepare for the worst!
