Pixies, Imagine Dragons, The Hellacopters and many others to play at Ilosaarirock Festival

Ilosaarirock Festival has published the first news of its line-up for summer 2017. The festival will host the debut Finnish appearances of alternative rock legend Pixies (USA) and garagerock duo Royal Blood (UK), comeback of action rock group The Hellacopters (SWE), Grammy winners Imagine Dragons (USA), electro swing pioneer Parov Stelar (AUT), Danish masters (DEN) and Mew (DEN), high speed punk rock bands Millencolin (SWE) and Zeke (USA) and progressive metal of Leprous (NOR).

The most expected Finnish artist is Insomnium who has planned a unique show just for Ilosaarirock. The highly appreciated death metal group performs their magnum opus Winter's Gate with Joensuu city orchestra. The 40 minute long album has been arranged for the large orchestra and cannot be heard anywhere else than Ilosaarirock Festival. Other Finnish acts include Disco Ensemble, Huoratron, Sonata Arctica, Poets of the Fall, Oranssi Pazuzu, Helsinki-Cotonou Ensemble and tens more. In total, more than 30 artists were announced on 23rd January.

Ilosaarirock takes place between 14 and 16 July at Laulurinne in Joensuu. More artists will be added to the line-up during the spring. Advance tickets for the festival are on sale via and Tiketti. For an up-to- date line-up, see
