Finland's most popular artist, Cheek, announced on November 2017 that he would retire from music and put on a farewell gig in Lahti in August. This bit of news, although expected, shocked fans and caused panicked reactions – attending that gig is a must before the lights are switched off and Cheek retires. Luckily Cheek approached us and told us he wants to say goodbye to his fans in eastern Finland, and the best place for it is of course at Ilosaarirock Festival.
Cheek's career has been analyzed for pages and pages, and more has been written about the man than is necessary. However, there's one thing no one can deny: a mega star of Cheek's caliber has never been seen in Finland. His accomplishments are colossal and only history will tell if his records are ever to be broken. In July, Sokka irti, Kuka muu muka, Timantit on ikuisia and dozens of other hits will get the send-off they deserve at Ilosaarirock Festival. Be there!
