”We are here” – Nightwish spectacle on Main stage

Symphonic metal music, impressive pyrotechnics, and a handsome firework show – a national pride and Friday's last performer Nightwish offered their fans the whole package.

Nightwish closed the festival’s first day with beautiful sounds and sights. The masterful stage show created a magical atmosphere in the darkening summer evening – intertwining with flashing lights, bursting flames, and nature-inspired background animations, the bands’ equally epic music was a real treat for more than one sense.

In the spirit of the Decades tour, the set list took the listeners down the memory lane. Nightwish pampered the festival audience with old classics, but managed to squeeze in new material as well. The evening included hits like Wish I Had An Angel, Nemo, I Want My Tears Back, and Élan. Thousands of listeners responded to the music with a massive sing-along party. The emotional scale seen in the audience was impressive on its own: Many danced and screamed of joy, while others cried in respectful silence.

The firework show crowned Friday evening, illuminating the sky as the last songs filled the air.
