Sir Elwoodin hiljaiset värit

Live nostalgia

Sir Elwoodin hiljaiset värit is an old-fashioned band in a good way. They have come a long way from the late 1980s without ever selling themselves to music business, and they have given us many albums full of recognisable and brilliant songs. They have declared their joyous lager jazz message for better and for worse and aged with dignity. Their ten quality albums and sturdy respect among Finnish people are the best proofs of this.

Their latest album Kaipuun vuosirenkaita (2010) is a natural continuum to their story: a warm atmosphere, the singer Juha Lehti's honest account and a mixture of smoky bar jazz and Finn rock are the essential ingredients of a Sir Elwood album. This band is not indie blog material and they don't pose on the covers of trendy magazines. And that's good. It is encouraging to realise that even during these turbo boost times people still want rugged edges and genuine feelings in their music. Ilosaarirock people, jump off the passing whirls of 2011 and let Sir Elwoodin hiljaiset värit take you to a picnic in a timeless place. You will love it there.
