Everlasting celebration of guitar distortion
The debut album of The Blanko, a Helsinki-based trio, was released in the spring 2011. Despite their relatively short career so far, the group has achieved amazing things. Thanks to hard and tireless work, they've gained reputation for exceptionally great live performances. The Blanko's proficiency is a result of numerous previous bands, touring and endless practice. Perhaps that's why their guitarist-singer Pauli Hauta-Aho gained the second place in YleX poll for best guitar player – that's saying something for the band that didn't even have an album out at the time.
The Blanko's charm is based on classic ingredients. Their line-up – drums, bass and a guitar hero – is the basic building block of rock'n'roll. The block includes nothing extra, but since the players do their share so well, nothing more is really needed. Within the borders of our country, the group's skills can be compared to Von Hertzen Brothers or Kingston Wall. In other words, they're in quita s shape. The Blanko defines itself as modern retro rock, but we beg to differ. The everlasting celebration of guitar distortion, that's The Blanko!
