Catchy indie rock by the Rokit contest winner
The Dirge Organ is an indie rock band from Joensuu. Despite their short career so far, this band has already managed to create a promising buzz outside the borders of their hometown, too. The biggest strength of the band is the singer-songwriter Arttu Hirvonen's strong and catchy songs that you find yourself humming after their energetic gigs. The Dirge Organ won the Rokit contest – a contest for local bands organised by Joensuu Pop Musicians' Association and the local newspaper Karjalainen – and thus gets to perform in Ilosaarirock Festival.
