Tumppi Varonen & Problems

Punk classics and freewheeling confidence

Although Tumppi Varonen is best remembered for his passionate vocals on the Finnish punk classic Tahdon rakastella sinua, he has achieved a lot more over the years. The tireless workhorse of the Finnish punk scene has released several albums both with Pelle Miljoona & Problems and on his own. He's written books, worked as a nurse and even tried his hand in politics – all this, plus the fact that the songs he's written with Problems are an inseparable part of the very foundation of the Finnish punk rock.

In 2011, Tumppi Varonen & Problems are more than alive and kicking. Earlier this year they released a live album, and reports from the tour that followed were bursting with excitement. With the presence and sheer experience gained over the years, the band can effortlessly make any stage theirs. It's particularly exciting to see Rane Raitsikka playing his guitar on the Finnish soil again. The years in Los Angeles have made him a world-class guitarist, whose charisma takes Problems to a completely new level. In other words, we should expect to hear a tight set of Finnish punk classics spiced up with freewheeling confidence.
