Goddamnit Ilosaari, keep going!

The sun kept shining, while the crowds at Main Stage saw the famously energetic stage show of Stam1na. The fans were calling for the band anxiously before the start, with a large crowd of diehards in front of the stage. When the band took to the stage, more people got up from the grass.

- Goddamnit Ilosaari, keep going! shouted lead singer Antti Hyrde Hyyrynen. Stam1na definitely woke up the crowd.

The gig was powerful right from the start. Muistipalapeli ended with a primal scream that lasted at least a full minute. At that point, you knew that this Sunday was not a day of rest. Every song included furious triplicate headbanging, which ultimately led to Hyyrynen being forced to seek medication in the form of a pain killer; he’d sprained his back. This didn’t have any ill effects to the rest of the gig, which continued at the same tempo.

Likainen parketti brought out the growling poet as well as the clear-voiced metal singer in Hyrde. The crowd sang along to every song and a few pieces saw a formidable sea of raised fists, at the band’s behest. For Lokki, the band brought in a female vocalist in a black bikini dress whose identity remained unknown to the web press reporters. But evidently the girl wasn’t singing metal for the first time, her voice was excellent and she headbanged on par with the rest of the band. The song also moved the audience to sing along with gusto. After the performance, the front row fans declared Lokki the best song of the act, although a woman who was revealed to be a a true hardcore fan said: “Stam1na’s gigs are always the best! Feels like every time they’re better than the last!”
