Old fellas show you how it’s done

The Latebirds, a band started ten years ago, is performing at Ilosaarirock for the first time. The Sue Stage tent is filling up quite nicely as the first chords hit the air.

It’s a gig of interesting opposites, as I find: in front of me I see MC Reefer and a middle-aged gentleman in trousers and a shirt. Passers-by and people from backstage start filing up to the sides of the tent to see this great live band play.

When we get halfway through the band starts sweating and the louder spectators in the audience begin to question the band’s competence. They answer by increasing the tempo a notch and declaring that even old fellas have the stamina, even if they might take a bit longer to remember the lyrics. The gig lasted a full hour and left the audience feeling very satisfied.
