Cody ChesnuTT from all the way across the big pond brought this year’s Rento Stage to a close. His sweeter-than-honey soul enveloped the entire crowd in a shroud of cool vibes.
The ten-member band accompanying ChesnuTT sounded simply amazing. Among other things spectacular, the crowd got to witness what is, as far as I know, the only flugelhorn in Ilosaarirock.
The star himself picked up the guitar every now and then, but also spent a great deal of time off the stage and with the crowd, standing tall by the stage fence, compelling the audience to sing with him. For the whole gig the performer sported a slightly tilted light blue army helmet.
Amidst all the high-energy jubilation the band paused to ponder on the world, the relationship between love and marriage and the all too current enigma of where does money come from, and where does it go.
The audience was totally infatuated, and so was Mr. ChesnuTT: he repeatedly noted the beauty of the stage’s surroundings as the sun slowly sunk behind the trees. He made enchanting the whole crowd look almost frighteningly easy. This year’s Rento Stage ended with the bang it deserved.
