Children of Bodom
Children of Bodom doesn't really require an introduction. Being one of the most internationally succesful Finnish bands of all time, this metal patrol is regarded highly in the metal circles throughout the world. In addition to all other praise, the lead guitarist Alexi Laiho has been voted the best metal guitarist on the planet, beating the big unknowns in the vein of Slash and Hammet.
The respect the Bodoms have gained isn't all that surprising, considering how uncompromising and determined their career has always been. What might be a bit surprising is COB's popularity, since their music is not the most easily approached kind, even when talking about metal. And even with their growing success, Children of Bodom has maintained their murdering aggressiveness. The group exudes attitude and danger, attributes that are lacking from too many metal bands of today. The last time Children of Bodom played at Ilosaarirock Festival, they surprised the technical crew by dragging half of a car wreck to the stage.
