Released in February, Nicole Willis & The Soul Investigators' second album Tortured Soul is like a ray of sunshine after long darkness – comforting, refreshing and full of lust for life. Nicole Willis & The Soul Investigators released their previous album Keep Reachin' Up in 2005. After the album tour Nicole Willis focused on her art studies and the band was having a quiet period, but the music started to spread into suprising ways. The title song ended up into the official playlist of Barack Obama's presidential campaign, cheering up the Democrats in the elections.
