Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät (FIN)
Hands up if you partied in front of the Rekka Stage in 2011 while Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät were playing and thought that this band will someday represent Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest! Hailing from Helsinki, PKN has gained the status of national heroes in such a historical way that it will be remembered for a long a time. In the middle of all the media hype it is still good to remember what PKN is all about. The band's classic punk rock and songs like Päättäjä on pettäjä (“Decision-maker Is a Deceiver”) and Mä vihaan maailmaa (“I Hate the World”) kick ass in such a way that puts standard radio rock to shame. If punk is about doing what you want how you want it and ignoring what others think, then Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät is the most honest punk music made in Finland today.
