Popeda (FIN)
It is true. The living legends of Manserock, Popeda, are finally coming to the Sulo Club. The band that was formed in 1977 has released 19 albums, 3 live albums, 6 collections and a host of singles during their impressive career. But more importantly, they've out-rocked every other band for five decades!
Finns know Popeda songs whether they want to or not. Tahdotko mut tosiaan, Kersantti Karoliina, Kuuma kesä and Matkalla Alabamaan are Finnish hard rock at its truest and just as much parts of the national heritage as Carelian pastries and midsummer bonfires. You know what you're getting when you go to a Popeda gig. Pate Mustajärvi, Costello Hautamäki, Jyri K. Melartin, Pate Kivinen and Lacu Lahtinen are in a damn fine form and won't give any mercy to the audience at the Sulo Club. Popeda is a quintessential Finnish rock band.
