Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley, Bastille and Sunn O))) to play at Ilosaarirock Festival 2015
True to its 13 February tradition, Ilosaarirock Festival has published the first news of its line-up for summer 2015. The Laulurinne festival ground will host the debut Finnish appearance of reggae legend Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley (JAM), British stars Bastille, Charli XCX and Tom Odell, rhythm music masters Big K.R.I.T. (USA), Beardyman (UK) and Beres Hammond (JAM) as well as two very different metal bands, Sunn O))) (USA) and Sólstafir (ISL).
Finnish artists to appear at the festival include Apocalyptica, Amorphis with its special Tales from the Thousand Lakes set, Mirel Wagner, Michael Monroe, Von Hertzen Brothers, Haloo Helsinki!, Apulanta, Popeda, SANNI and CMX. In total, more than 30 new artists were announced on 13 February.
– Ilosaarirock Festival wants to present the best artists of the different genres, and Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Sunn O))) and the beatbox genius Beardyman are great examples of this. Very few festivals have such a versatile offering, but we are lucky to have an audience that is open to all kinds of genres. It's going to be another ace year and I'm really excited, says Panu Hattunen, Ilosaarirock Festival's promoter.
Ilosaarirock Festival 2015 takes place between 17 and 19 July at Laulurinne in Joensuu. More artists will be added to the line-up during the spring.
