Elastinen (FIN)
Finnish hiphop –music rose from the underground in a significant way in 2000. Back then a group called Fintelligens, consisting of two young men from Helsinki, released their debut album and the Finnish music scene would never be the same. Their success opened doors for others and helped elevate rap-music into a nationwide phenomenon.
One half of the said band, Elastinen, has since made a name for himself through Rähinä Records, popular tv shows like The Voice of Finland and Vain elämää, and most of all, his ever-ascending solo career. To quote one his hits, let it play this summer. Let it play loud.
