J. Karjalainen (FIN)
J. Karjalainen is one of the grand old men of Finnish rock music. After a venture in American-Finnish folk banjo Karjalainen returned to his rock roots (or roots rock) in 2013 with the critically acclaimed album Et ole yksin and, in particular, its great lead single Mennyt mies. Practically every Finnish person knows his old hits and you're bound to bump into them, be it on the radio, at a Saturday night karaoke or in elementary school music books. Also a highly respected lyricist, Karjalainen is an epitome of Finnishness.
