American rap artist Yelawolf has cancelled his show at Ilosaarirock Festival due to changes at film production schedules. Yelawolf is replaced by British grime superstar and Mercury Price winner Dizzee Rascal.
Yelawolf was originally booked to replace Action Bronson.
- We had very bad luck with this Friday slot. First, Action Bronson had to cancel and then Yelawolf. Luckily we were fortuned to book such a great artist as Dizzee Rascal. Third time's the charm, laughs Panu Hattunen, the promotor of Ilosaarirock Festival.
Unfortunately Action Bronson's gig at Ilosaarirock has been cancelled. Action Bronson is replaced by American rapper Yelawolf.
the music of Yelawolf can be described as a mixture of rap, country and rock. Yelawolf is a combination of deep south, rockabilly white trash aesthetics and rigorous rhyming. Yelawolf's gigs seem more like a rock show than a rap performance.
Yelawolf released his latest album Trial By Fire last year, and the man who is known for his wild gigs has been feverishly anticipated in Europe and Finland since then!
Ilosaarirock Festival artist schedule is now out and can be found here. Ilosaari Lounge offers events ranging from improv theatre to stand-up comedy and FIFA World Cup finals on Saturday and Sunday.
Please note that festival ticket prices will increase by 10€ on July 1st. For more information about tickets, please visit our ticket page.

In July all you music fans out there are in for one gigantic treat as one of the World's true rock and roll superstars, Jack White, finally arrives to Finland! Jack White has announced his first tour in almost four years and we are one of the lucky ones to experience the show in Europe.
12 Grammys, 33 Grammy nominations, a Bond theme song, numerous number one hits, as well as being listed amongst the best guitarists in the word time and time again and a sports-anthem known to all – YES, Jack White undoubtedly is truly one of the greatest!
Jack White got his big breakthrough back in 2001 when The White Stripes released their debut album White Blood Cells. That album blew the garage rock fans away and put the band immediately in the music scene spotlight. The band, though, didn't let the hype slow them down. On the contrary, The White Stripes then released Seven Nation Army, a song known to every sports fan. And the legend was born.
After The White Stripes, Jack White has been prolific, to say the least. He has made music with bands such as The Racounters and Dead Weather and released two solo albums which have both climbed to the top of the Billboard chart. The long-awaited third solo album will be released in March 2018. Lucky for us, because that is why he has set his wagon wheels rolling towards the biggest festival stages around the world.
Jack White is a brilliantly original artist who does not bow down to any trends. On the contrary, he never ceases to amaze us with whatever he decides to do. At the core of his musical manifestation are the very basic ingredients of rock n' roll which he magnificently spices up with pinches of country and blues in order to stir his original cocktail. What makes his music so special are the catchy melodies combined with his signature hefty distortion riffs and, more importantly, his passionate playing and brute stage presence.
As Jack White chooses his appearances carefully, every live show is an event itself. During his past solo tours, White has also pampered his audiences with some of the biggest hits he has made with his different bands. So buckle up, this is – without a doubt – going to be THE rock experience of 2018!
