When Haloo Helsinki’s lead singer Elli started to pursue a solo career, Ellips is what happened next. The first single of her solo project, Maailma on rikki, caught the Finnish music scene unawares. Elli had every opportunity to create glossy radio pop hits guaranteed to top the charts, but instead she followed her true passion and wrote songs that take the listeners to the dusky world of 70s guitar rock. Since its first outing, Ellips has been the talk of the town and many have made comparisons to the Finnish prog rock legends, Kingston Wall.
Ellips’ gigs are bound to be outstanding, given that Elli’s fine voice and storytelling skills will be complimented by some of the top musicians in this country, including Timo Kämäräinen, Sami Kuoppamäki, Juho Kanerva, Janne Puurtinen and Markus Pajakkala. Add to the mix Matti Mikkola from Saimaa as producer and now, let it simmer... It will be beautiful, there is no doubt about it.
