J. Karjalainen carries the title of the finest lyricist and songwriter in Finland, and his latest album Sä kuljetat mua is once again a testament to that fact. Karjalainen’s songs, such as Terve, Sirkka Lautamies, Tule kesäyö and Tummansininen seuralainen are excellent examples of the talent, skill and passion he pours into his music.
In addition to fantastic storytelling, the new album reveals that J. Karjalainen and his band are in top form and playing better than ever. The magic of J. Karjalainen’s music is that it transports you to the cotton fields of a bygone age, and yet manages to resonate right here and right now in 2019. J.
