Previously known by the stage name of Thelo Ekow and as the lead rapper of The Megaphone State, the singer Jesse Markin went through a complete transformation last year. As a result of his solo venture, Jesse Markin now makes accomplished indie music and it is some of the best to be heard in years.
Ahead of his debut album, Jesse Markin has released a bunch of singles, such as Treat, Blood and the superb Jericho, which was dubbed as the ‘perfect R&B song’ by music critics. Markin combines R&B with modern soul, hip hop and electro funk. His lyrics are beautiful yet thought-provoking, and the topics cover anything from sexism to slavery, and racism to challenging stereotypes.
We are dealing with world-class goods here, and Jesse Markin sure knows how to deliver them. With music this fine and an artist with the talent to captivate audiences, Jesse Markin’s first appearance at Ilosaarirock Festival will be one to remember. Catch him while you can – this man is destined to rise to global acclaim.
