Jori Sjöroos is one of the few cutting-edge music producers in Finland, and his exceptional talent and insight are behind the success of many Finnish artists, such as PMMP and Vesta. In addition to his production wizardry, Sjöroos has also made a name for himself through various music projects and bands, such as Fu-Tourist, ROOXX and Magenta Skycode.
Earlier this year this perpetual-motion-machine of a man teamed up with the singer Chisu to form a duo called Roosberg. Roosberg’s song The Author was featured on the star-studded soundtrack of the Moominvalley TV series, which is a Finnish-British co-production. Sjöroos’s solo journey across the musical landscape has led him to experiment with trap music, and his new single Sadboi is an excellent piece of autotune-adorned emotional rap that brings to mind Post Malone and Lil Peep.
It seems that nothing is impossible for this hugely gifted artist, and no-one but the man himself knows what will go down during the live show this summer. However, one thing is for sure: it will be nothing short of fantastic. Roll on Ilosaarirock!
