Kynnet is just one of the umpteen musical triumphs of artiste extraordinaire, Teemu Tanner. Tanner has had various ingenious musical projects, such as Hopeajärvi and Teksti-TV 666, over the years. Kynnet, his most recent brainchild, started off as a solo venture. However, with the release of the album Vähät välittää during autumn 2018, Kynnet grew into a full band and at the same time redefined the beat music genre.
The sound texture of Kynnet is rough and unpolished, which makes for perfect alternative rock (or lo-fi power pop, if you ask the band themselves). Kynnet have been dubbed as the grass-roots superstars of 2019, and anyone who’s seen them play knows exactly why. If you’re into alt-rock, the Kynnet gig at Ilosaarirock this July is an absolute must-see!
