Perturbator is undeniably one of the biggest names in the global synthwave scene and has an army of passionate fans from both the metal music and EDM circles. The man behind Perturbator is a French musician called James Kent, who started off as a guitarist in various black metal bands. However, it wasn’t until he got his hands on a synthesiser that things really got moving.
Perturbator went on to create a whole new genre of music that draws its inspiration from cyberpunk, 80s video games and science fiction. His music transports listeners to a Blade Runner-like world and dance floors at sold-out gigs are heaving with a curious mixture of morose metal heads, electro-industrially-minded dance enthusiasts and cyborged computer nerds. Brace yourself for an hour of heavy bass, dark ambience and über-stylish twists and turns.
