The biggest rock band from Finland, Sunrise Avenue, is coming to Ilosaarirock Festival for the first time ever! The hugely popular combo regularly perform at sold-out stadium venues across Europe, but are rarely seen playing in Finland. The Ilosaarirock gig is the only festival show Sunrise Avenue will perform in Finland during summer 2019.
The story of Sunrise Avenue is a classic ‘rags to riches’ fable. Many years ago, Samu Haber and his friends gathered together all the money they could find and spent it recording their first songs. The risk paid off and led them to sign an international record deal and now the rest is history. Their debut album On the Way to Wonderland became a platinum awarded best-seller in both Finland and Germany, and their popularity across Europe has been rising ever since. Samu Haber is an A-list celebrity in Germany and Sunrise Avenue’s albums have sold millions; their songs can be heard everywhere from international sports events to TV shows.
Despite the unimaginable success, the core of Sunrise Avenue has remained the same over the years. These guys know how to have a good time, write awesome rock songs and win over their audiences with energetic live performances that keep fans coming back for more. In July 2019, Ilosaarirock is finally going to sample these delights. It’s about time!
