Known for their raunchy lyrics and for pulling scandalous ‘shock rock’ stunts, Turmion Kätilöt (which translates as the Midwives of Destruction) is the biggest and the most beautiful industrial metal act to come from Finland.
In 2018 the band released their eighth album, Universal Satan, which rocketed to number one in the Finnish album charts. Fans quickly agreed that the album is one of their strongest releases to date. However, although the raved about studio albums never fail to deliver, the best way to experience the might of Turmion Kätilöt is at their live shows. When these midwives get going, it’s all studded leather, latex and whips – nothing is off limits and all taboos are out the window. Turmion Kätilöt treat their audiences to a sweaty spectacle like no other, and their performances are full of energy and commitment.
