Ville Valo, who shot to fame as the lead vocalist of internationally renowned rock band, HIM, has teamed up with Agents, a legendary Finnish band from the late 70s. Ville Valo & Agents have recorded an album full of hits and previously unsung pieces written by the late Rauli ‘Badding’ Somerjoki. Badding is one of the most loved Finnish singer-songwriters of all time, and his songs are considered as sacred. Who would have the balls to even attempt to cover these revered songs? It turns out Ville Valo has, and with this collaboration Badding’s music has been brought back to life.
The album has turned out to be one of the most talked about musical events of the year, long before its release. Fans across the country were enthralled when they got their first taste of things to come with the release of the first single, Orpolapsi kiurun. After the album has been released, the group will play a handful of gigs at sold out concert venues around Finland. Expectations are sky-high for the upcoming performances, set to be held during the summer of 2019 at selected festivals.
As the sun sets at Ilosaarirock in July, and Ville Valo & Agents take over the stage, the atmosphere is going to be nothing short of magical.
