Machine Gun Kelly

Classifying Machine Gun Kelly as ‘just a rap artist’ would be an understatement, because the scale of his ambition is so much more. Fans have always drawn parallels between him and Eminem, but when you see the man and his guitar on stage together with the rest of the band, you begin to see where the difference lies. More like a punk rocker who accidentally ended up playing to stadium audiences, MGK is forever switching between musical genres and creative pursuits. Most recently he’s showcased his talent on the big screen when he was cast to act the role of Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee in The Dirt.

When it comes to live shows, MGK is a devilishly good entertainer who goes at full throttle to create the most effervescent atmosphere possible for his fans. MGK’s fourth album, Hotel Diablo, was released in 2019 and gave listeners a chance to access some of his inner demons. And just like MGK’s previous releases, this highly polished and intimate album climbed into the Top 10 on the Billboard Charts. The single I Think I'm OKEY is a bouncy rock blast featuring Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and British rock prodigy YUNGBLUD, yet again showing MGK’s ability to do genre-bending in style. Since YUNGBLUD is also due to perform at Ilosaarirock, who knows what might happen if these two were to bump into each other during the festival?!
