Vesala (FIN)

When it comes to the amount of talent and virtue one person can be blessed with, Paula Vesala certainly is one in a million. The sheer scale and quality of the work Vesala has produced while working in theatre and film alone would be enough to secure her place in the annals of history, but she also happens to be an exceptional pop genius, who is always ahead of the curve.

Her 2016 debut album introduced us to an unfettered solo artist whose music strikes a perfect balance between the mainstream and outer margins, pure entertainment and art. Vesala’s unique brand of synth pop often sounds catchy and fun but could never be described as trivial – there is always meaning to be found in these well-crafted songs. Her most recent singles, such as Monta nimee and Uusia unelmia have been praised by both critics and radio audiences alike, and have increased the hype around the much anticipated second album.

Nobody knows what Vesala has in store for us this July, but based on her impressive track record, it’s sure to be a show to remember!
