When CMX six years ago decided that they will not ever play before an audience again, it was nowhere else but in Ilosaarirock where they wanted to play their famous last gig. Later it turned out that CMX quit performing the way most of us quit smoking, i.e. not permanently, but this does nothing to obscure the fact that this last appearance in Ilosaarirock 1999 was simply an out-of-this-world experience. They played last on Saturday night, and both the band and the audience were almost moved to tears. Come on then, did somebody really take offence when CMX had a change of heart and started performing again? This giant of Finnish rock has been together since 1980s and released, besides loads of other material, ten studio albums by now. They should have enough songs so as not to run out in one gig.
