  FAT BEAT SOUND SYSTEM

Do you Feel Fat? Even if so far you don't, just Embrace Fatness and come to see this Finnish super band that consists of musicians who have, each on their own or with other bands, released enough albums to fill up quite a few better-than-average record collections. The names Hepa Halme, DJ Bunuel, Jarmo Saari, Jukkis Kiviniemi and Abdissa Assefa are familiar from such bands as Reuna, Nu Spirit Helsinki, XL, Jarmo Saari Solu, Teddy Rok 7, Giant Robot and Soul Tattoo, to name but a few. Apparently the gentlemen still have got too much time in their hands, as Fat Beat Sound System is their project band for Jamaican- and Afro-American-based, extremely danceable music. Although their debut album was released only in 2004, they started to play together already in the early 1990s when 'reggae' for most people meant UB40, Inner Circle and Baby I Love Your Way. Sometimes the fat beat gets even fatter when the band joins forces with vocalists Hosni and Father Metro. So if you're in for some good groove, Fat Beat Sound System is a must-see.
