Although Jamstream started to play together as recently as 2002, this band of six is a regular visitor in Ilosaarirock. This is their third time at the festival. The music is vital funk and soul, and the band's excellence was noticed already back in 2003 when Tommy Lindgren from Don Johnson Big Band – something of an authority in Finnish music scene – wrote thus in his own tour diary:
"We bumped into a brilliant young band who called itself Jamstream. They had won a band contest and the prize was that they had their own tiny tent by the path to the main stage. Their set there in the middle of Sunday was so energetic that most big stars from big stages should have hung their heads in shame."
In addition to their shows, Jamstream has also fascinated audiences with one self-published EP which is now, sadly, out of print.
